Ex-Terrestrial - Euphorbia

Trance is under threat. Caught somewhere between the bloated nostalgia of Bicep and its fetishism within Copenhagen’s increasingly-weary ‘fast techno’ scene, it was forecast that trance would soon return to its grave by means of overdose. But, just as breakbeat arrived sporting a black robe and scythe, Montreal-based producer Adam Feingold (a.k.a. Ex-Terrestrial) breaks from character to resuscitate trance upon one of the year’s most ruckus 12”s. And I’m not talking about blatant revivalism here either.

On highlights ’Mojave Skyline’ and ‘Insect Reject’, Feingold pools his familiar knack for weaving steamy and energetic house jams with a fresh injection of psychedelic acid licks and celestial tranced-out synths. Balancing dancefloor ferocity with warm and elegant production, Euphorbia brings ideal sounds for both bedroom and bush doof.
